Dr. Rajit Ranjan is currently serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at IIT Jodhpur, India (since March 2025). He holds a Ph.D. from Delft University of Technology, Netherlands, where he was a Marie-Curie Fellow under the European Union’s project titled 'Precision Metal Additive Manufacturing'. He holds an M.S. from the University of Cincinnati, USA, and a B.Tech. from NIT Allahabad, India. Prior to joining IIT Jodhpur, he briefly held a faculty position at BITS Pilani, where he taught Additive Manufacturing. He also worked as a Computational Engineer in Simulation & Design at Alloyed Ltd., Oxford, UK, contributing to cutting-edge industrial R&D in metal additive manufacturing. Dr. Ranjan is a self-motivated multidisciplinary researcher with over 7 years of research experience in multi-physics modeling and topology optimization. His research interests lie in part-scale simulation of additive manufacturing processes and integrating physical models with optimization frameworks. He has total 5 years of industry experience and has worked across five countries, collaborating effectively with international teams.
