Gurujegan Murugesan is linguist and his research focus is primarily on theoretical/formal linguistics with a fieldwork-oriented approach. He did his PhD at Universität Leipzig, Germany, on the topic Predicting the Anaphor Agreement Effect and its Violations. Currently, he has been working on non-canonical grammatical patterns of endangered/tribal languages of South Asia and the general challenges they pose to the current syntactic theory.
