Assistant ProfessorAbout
Dr. Prashant Kumar Gupta received his B.Tech. in Chemical Engineering from BIET Jhansi, India, in 2009. Then, completed M.Tech in Chemical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur in 2011, followed by a Ph.D at the Department of Chemical Engineering, IIT Kanpur, in the year 2019. After his Ph.D., Dr. Gupta joined the Department of Chemical Engineering at IIT (ISM) Dhanbad as a Visiting Assistant Professor for approximately one year. He joined as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering, IIT Jodhpur, in November 2020. Dr. Gupta leads the research lab, Electrochemical Energy Conversion and Storage (E2CS) lab. His lab conducts experimental research on the material design for electrocatalysis, like HER, OER, ORR, CER, CO 2 reduction, etc. Currently, the major focus is on the Direct Seawater Electrolysis for hydrogen production. The group also focuses on the electrode material design for the electrochemical energy storage devices based on Lithium, Zinc, and Sodium-based chemistry.
