Dr. Shiv is an Assistant Professor at the School of Design, IIT Jodhpur. He holds a PhD in Design from IIT Guwahati and an M.Des. from IIITDM Jabalpur. His academic and research interests lie in the areas of Industrial Design, Design Methodology, Form Studies, Design Education and Pedagogy, Product Semantics, Design & Nature, and Organic/Biomorphic Design. Before joining IIT Jodhpur, Dr. Shiv was the first faculty member and a founding member of the Department of Design at Tezpur University. There, he played a central role in building the department from the ground up and initiating its M.Des., B.Des., and PhD programs. In addition to teaching and research, he is actively engaged in design practice as an Industrial Designer, contributing to consultancy projects and collaborative research that connect academic inquiry with real-world design challenges.
