Dr. Raviraj Vankayala is an Associate Professor in the Department of Bioscience and Bioengineering at the Indian Institute of Technology Jodhpur, Rajasthan, India, where his research involves the development of multifunctional nanostructures for diagnostic and therapeutic applications in tackling various diseases. Dr. Vankayala completed his  B. Sc and M. Sc in Chemistry from Andhra University, Visakhapatnam. He earned his Ph.D. degree in Chemistry from National Tsing Hua University (2012), Taiwan and his postdoctoral studies were performed at National Tsing Hua University (2015) and University of California Riverside (2017), USA. He worked as a Chief Technology Officer at Radoptics LLC (2017-2019) for the development of biomimetic nanoconstructs for imaging and therapeutic applications of cancer and vascular diseases. He has secured an Outstanding Researcher Award for his contributions in the field of Nanobiotechnology by IIT Jodhpur for the year 2021. He also secured the prestigious DBT Ramalingaswami biomedical fellowship for the year 2018-2019. He served as a Guest Editor for various special issues in the MDPI and Frontiers journals. He is currently serving as an Associate Editor for Frontiers in Drug Delivery journal and as an editorial board member for the Scientific Reports (Nature Publishing Group) and Particle (John Wiley & Sons) journals. He has secured the prestigious 2024 Rising Stars in Biological, Medicinal, and Pharmaceutical Chemistry by the American Chemical Society.
