Dr. Gourhari Ghosh has been working as an assistant professor in the Mechanical Engineering department of IIT Jodhpur since September 2022. Prior joining to IIT Jodhpur, he worked as a National post-doctoral fellow (NPDF) in the Mechanical Engineering department of IIT Bombay. His post-doctoral research work was focused on the Laser directed energy deposition (LDED) of metal matrix composite coatings. He completed Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from IIT Kharagpur. His Ph.D. research work was focused on the ultra-high finishing of thermally sprayed WC-Co coating. His present research work is focused on Ultra-precision Finishing, LASER baser Additive Manufacturing, Thermal Spray Coating, Bio-compatible materials and coatings, and Tribology. He has been awarded the DST Inspire faculty fellowship award. He has also been awarded the Seal of Excellence award from European Commission, European Union (EU), and the National post-doctoral fellowship (NPDF) award from the Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB). During his B.Tech, he secured the departmental topper position and received a scholarship under UGC scheme from the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD). Currently, he has been actively working as a reviewer of a few journals of Elsevier, Springer, and Sage publications.
