Assistant ProfessorAbout
Dr. Himanshu Dave is currently an Assistant Professor in the Mechanical Engineering Department at IIT-Jodhpur. His research interests primarily are simulating turbulent flows and developing novel and green technologies, such as MILD combustion or hydrogen-based combustion. He is a skilled researcher on numerical simulations of reacting flows and its analysis using domain-specific and machine learning (ML) techniques. Prior to joining IIT-Jodhpur, he has worked for a year as a Lead Engineer – Combustion Modelling in GE Vernova, Bangalore. Between 2019 and 2023, he worked as an IF@ULB (Marie-Curie COFUND) postdoctoral fellow in ULB, Belgium, working on application of ML on combustion datasets. Between 2014 and 2019, he completed his PhD from the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore in Aerospace Engineering working on direct numerical simulations (DNS) of turbulent premixed hydrogen-air flames. Between 2010 and 2014, he worked on liquid rocket engines as a Scientist/Engineer at Liquid Propulsions Systems Center (LPSC), ISRO. He holds a BE(Hons.) in Mechanical Engineering from BITS-Pilani, Goa Campus.
