About

Dr Srijit Biswas is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Associate Centre Head of the Manekshaw Centre for National Security Studies and Research at IIT Jodhpur. He holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from NIT Agartala. His expertise spans IC engines, alternative fuels, combustion, performance, emissions (Experimental and Simulation), UAV propulsion, and sustainability assessment through Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), Techno-Economic Assessment (TEA), and Socio-Economic Assessment (SEA). Prior to joining IIT Jodhpur, he served as a CSIR-Pool Scientist at IIT Kanpur, where he worked extensively on LCA and TCO analysis of Indian transportation powertrains, as well as the design & development of UAV engines. Dr Biswas has authored over 22 SCIE journal papers, nine conference papers, and one edited book with Springer. He is a recipient of the Prof. P. K. Bose Young Scientist Award (2024) by ISEES and frequently serves as an invited speaker in various OEM forums.
