Dr. Hardik Kothadia is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering. He is also affiliated with the Rishab Center for Research and Innovation in Clean Energy and the IITJ-AIIMSJ Medical Technology Center. He received his Ph.D. from IIT Bombay in the area of multiphase flows and heat transfer. He is the recipient of the National Award for Best M.Tech Thesis by the Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) for his research on lignite coal gasification. He received the Excellence in Thesis Work Award from IIT Bombay for his outstanding research contributions during his Ph.D. At IIT Jodhpur, Dr. Kothadia has been honoured with the Teaching Excellence Award (2021) and the Institute Award for Research Excellence (2025) in the Young Researcher category.

With a prolific academic record, he has authored over 80 research papers published in reputed international journals and conferences. He is the PI/Co-PI in 14 sponsored and consultancy projects, securing total funding exceeding ₹20 crore. His collaborations span major industrial and government bodies, including Thermax Limited, DRDO, DST, ANRF, ARDB, ISRO, DAE, ICMR, the Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of MSME. In the domain of innovation, Dr. Kothadia has been granted one patent and has filed four provisional patents.
