Dr. Indranil Banerjee is an
associate professor in the Department of Bioscience and Bioengineering, Indian
Institute of Technology, Jodhpur. Dr. Banerjee has extensive research
experience in tissue engineering, regenerative medicine, biomaterials, therapeutic
delivery systems and biomicrofludics. Presently, his lab is working on
AI-guided 3D bioprinted diseses model for in vitro drug screening, 3D printed
craniofacial implants, NIR-responsive phototherapeutics for chronic wound
healing, and Proangiogenic 2D biomaterials.
Dr. Banerjee has an
interdisciplinary academic and research background. He did his double
bachelor's (B.Sc in Chemistry (Hons) and B.Tech in Chemical Technology)
and Master's (M.Tech. in Pharmaceutical and Fine Chemical Technology) from the
University of Calcutta. Later, he pursued his PhD in Biotechnology from the
Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur. He started his academic career as an
assistant professor in the Department of Biotechnology and Medical Engineering,
National Institute of Technology Rourkela. He has authored around 100 research
articles and book chapters and edited several books. He received the Institute
Award for Research Excellence -2022; Senior Researcher Award (Engineering) at
IIT Jodhpur. Dr. Banerjee is closely engaged with the start-up ecosystem and is
associated with 2 deep-tech start-ups.
