Dr. Kushagra Sharan is an Assistant Professor of Strategic Management at the School of Management and Entrepreneurship, IIT Jodhpur. A PhD from IIM Kozhikode (IIMK) and BE (Mechanical) from BIT Mesra (ranked: top-3), he completed his doctorate in record time, earning awards for Best Overall Academic and Coursework Performance at IIMK. His research intersects strategy as practice, knowledge management, climate change, technology and innovation; altruism and policy analysis. He has published in the Journal of Knowledge Management (ABDC-A) and authored a case for Ivey Publishing—BYJU’S: The Blue Ocean Strategy—shortlisted as “Outstanding New Case Writer” by the Case Centre 2024. He was awarded the Australia India Research (AIRS) Fellowship, the only awardee among all IIMs, and visited the University of Wollongong (UoW), where he received letters of recognition from both IIMK and UoW. He was awarded the Karen Legge Bursary by the Society for the Advancement of Management Studies (SAMS) to present at the Journal of Management Studies (JMS) Conference in Edinburgh. He has taught MBA and PhD courses including Strategic Management, Blue Ocean Strategy, Grand Challenges, Product Management, Strategic Thinking, Qualitative and Meta Research. He has delivered invited lectures at IRITM (Indian Railways for civil servants), All India Radio, BIT Mesra, and international conferences. He supervised PhD practice-track students on coopetition and sustainability. He has worked in national-level roles at BYJU’S, upGrad, and IMS Learning, developing curriculum and product strategy. His early academic career includes prestigious fellowships: JNCASR (IIT Bombay), IAS (IISc Bangalore), and UGC.His awards include “Top 100 Global Education Leaders” (GFEL), Distinguished Alumni of BIT Mesra, and special mention awards at Lucknow Conclave, IIM Lucknow. He has served as a reviewer for AOM, AIB, and NACRA conferences and holds memberships with EGOS.
