About

Dr Pratyaksh Karan joined the Indian Institute of Technology Jodhpur in Oct 2025. Prior to this, he worked as a CNRS post-doctoral fellow at Geosciences Rennes, University of Rennes, FR, where he worked on lab-scale experimentation of reaction fronts in porous media. He also worked at IIT Gandhinagar as an Early Career Fellow, where he developed theories for reactive transport in porous media under radial flows. He completed his PhD from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur, where his thesis work was focused in elastohydrodynamics and soft matter applications and he collaborated in projects involving tumour biomimetics and medical diagnostics.

Current Research Interests:
1. Modelling and applications of fluids and soft materials in micro and nano scale systems
2. Mathematical methods for applied mechanics
3. Characterization of mechanical behavior of materials
4. Transport and Mixing of Solutes
