Prof. Koenigs holds a full professor position in the Institute of Organic Chemistry at RWTH Aachen University. His research is dedicated to the chemistry of reactive small molecules and their application to organic synthesis. His primary research interests are in metal-catalyzed carbene transfer reactions, photochemistry, photocatalysis, and medicinal chemistry.
