Manikandan Paranjothy
ProfessorBiography
Prof. Manikandan Paranjothy completed Ph.D. in 2009 from the
department of Chemistry, Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, under the
supervision of Prof. Srihari Keshavamurthy. He carried out three years
of post-doctoral work in the research group of Prof. William L. Hase, at
Texas Tech University, USA. He joined Indian Institute of Technology Jodhpur in
2013 as Assistant Professor and became Associate Professor in 2019 and
Professor in 2023. His research interests include chemical reaction dynamics,
direct dynamics simulations of organic reactions, and reactions at
heterogeneous interfaces. His research group is actively involved in developing
machine learning based potential energy surfaces for performing reaction
dynamics calculations.
Research
Our broad research area is Theoretical and Computational Chemistry. In our research group, we use Quantum Chemistry and Classical Trajectory methods to study interesting chemical reactions occurring in Interstellar, Combustion, and Atmospheric Chemistry. Specific research topics are:
