Dr. Rajat Gupta is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics at the Indian Institute of Technology Jodhpur, a position he has held since December 2025. He received his Ph.D. in Mathematics from the Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar in July 2022. Prior to this, he completed his M.Sc. in Mathematics from the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur during 2013–2015.
Following his Ph.D., Dr. Gupta held several postdoctoral positions. He was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Institute of Mathematics, Academia Sinica, Taiwan, from May to December 2022. He subsequently held positions at the University of Texas at Tyler (January 2023 -- August 2024) under Professor Madeline Dawsey, the University of Maine (September 2024 -- August 2025), and worked under the mentorship of Professor Kathrin Bringmann at the University of Cologne, Germany, until December 2025.
His research interests lie in number theory, including analytic number theory, the theory of partitions, modular forms, harmonic Maass forms, -series, and special functions.
Dr. Gupta is interested in supervising motivated summer interns and Ph.D. students, and in mentoring postdoctoral researchers. Prospective candidates are encouraged to contact him via his institute email.
