Dr. Prashant Kumar Gupta received his B.Tech. in Chemical Engineering from BIET Jhansi, India in 2009. Then, completed M.Tech in Chemical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur in 2011, followed by a Ph.D at the Department of Chemical Engineering, IIT Kanpur, in the year 2019. After his Ph.D., Dr. Gupta has joined Department of Chemical Engineering at IIT (ISM) Dhanbad as a Visiting Assistant Professor for approximately one year. He joined as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering, IIT Jodhpur, in November 2020.
Research Interest:
He leads the research lab "Electrochemical Energy Conversion and Storage (E2CS) lab". His lab conducts the experimental research on the material design for the electrocatalysis like HER, OER, ORR, CER, CO 2 reduction etc.. Currently, the major focus is on the Direct Seawater Electrolysis for the hydrogen production. The group also focusses on the electrode material design for the electrochemical energy storage devices based on Lithium, Zinc, and Sodium based chemistry.
