Dr. Sumit Kamal has been working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology Jodhpur (IIT Jodhpur) since January 2022. He received his B.Tech. from the Department of Chemical Engineering, Haldia Institute of Technology, WBUT, 2014. He completed his M.Tech. and Ph.D. from the Department of Chemical Engineering, IIT Bombay, in February 2021.

Before joining IIT Jodhpur, he worked as a Post-Doctoral fellow at IIT Bombay from March 2021 to December 2021. Dr. Sumit Kamal specializes in the analysis of reaction engineering systems. He has expertise in the experimental realization of reactive and catalytic systems and handling various reactors.His studies have helped optimize reaction conditions in multi-step processes, which have been granted multiple patents in India and abroad. He also has a keen interest in process development and the demonstration of the feasibility of alternative methods for chemical synthesis.
